SOFTWARE DESIGN COMPETITION

Morgan Stanley and ETCC proudly present the ETCC 2008 Software Design Competition - an excellent opportunity to showcase your technical skills and work with Morgan Stanley corporate representatives. For the sixth straight year, Morgan Stanley has committed to award thousands of dollars in cash scholarships to the winning teams. The participants in this competition will have the opportunity to develop technical, teamwork, and creative skills while networking with other technical students and Morgan Stanley professionals.

Calling all SHPE Technologists!!

Be a competition participant and have the chance to win:

1st Place: Up to $3,000 ($1,000/person)

2nd Place: Up to $2,250 ($750/person)

3rd Place: Up to $1,500 ($500/person)

Topic: Build a search appliation that can extract relevant information from diverse forms of information repositories and present the data in a usable and meaningful form.

Deadlines:

Feb. 8 (EXTENDED deadline) - Official Team sign up/abstract submission (send via email to monique.jackson@shpe.org)

Feb. 23 - Project due/team presentations

Requirements:

Teams must consist of 2-3 students of which at least 50% must be members of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers.  Team members must have a mininum 3.0 GPA, attend ETCC, and of course, have an interest in Software Development/Programming.

Each student team will have access to a team of Morgan Stanley IT representatives for the duration of the project.

Judging will occur onsite at ETCC 2008 at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City at Reagan National Airport.
