Take the Mystery out of Learning....The "Guaranteed 4.0 Learning System "Lab - presented by Donna O. Johnson, Founder & President of the Dallas-based educational consulting firm that provides innovative approaches to learning and success.  This seminar will provide an  an easy-to-follow comprehensive learning enhancement system that ensures academic excellence and professional growth.  Attendees will receive a customized workbook ensure understanding of the principles presented.  This seminar is mandatory for all attendees with a GPA below 3.2.  Day/Time:  Friday, 8:30am-11:30am, Regency Ballroom. 

Essay Writing Lab
Students will learn how to write a competitive essay for scholarship applications and graduate school.  Students will have the opportunity to complete a SHPE/AHETEMS scholarship application onsite.  This seminar is mandatory for all attendees.  Day/Time:  Friday afternoon

Resume Writing Lab
Students will learn how to write a competitive resume that highlights their technical competencies and incorporates the important elements that employers want to see.  Students will receive feedback from corporate representatives on their current resumes and will have an opportunity to make updates onsite.  This seminar is mandatory for all attendees.  Day/Time:  Friday afternoon

Leadership Seminars 
What does it take to be a good leader?  A panel of SHPE and corporate leaders will discuss the qualities of an effective leader and what leadership means to them.

Technical Seminar: H2 Generation for the H2 Generation
Question: What is the lightest element in the chemical world?
Answer: Visit with the Air Products SHPE recruiting team for the answer and learn more about a sexy new technology. You will learn about H2 and Air Products hydrogen fueling station technology. While there, enjoy our famous Cookies n' Cream ice cream made with Air Products Liquid Nitrogen "LIN."

GRE/Grad Lab - (For Sophomores & Juniors with a 3.0 or higher GPA) The GRE/Grad Lab is a great opportunity for you, the student, to learn about the Graduate school process, funding and leave the lab with a complete admissions essay. Not only will you be receiving this great information for practically no cost at all, you will also be eligible for a GRE fee waiver to take the GRE test this year, an over $100 value! Only students who attend all Grad Lab events will be eligible for this reward, so don’t miss it. Further, AHETEMS is working on providing students an opportunity to take a practice GRE test and info session from The Princeton Review (tentative). Again this program will be free of charge, but you can’t take advantage of it if you don’t sign up for the Grad Lab, so sign up now by emailing monique.jackson@shpe.org.
